About our Name
Not far from Scotland's famous Loch Lomond, rising above the church in the town of Balquhidder, is a rock outcropping called Creag an Tuirc which provides an expansive view of the surrounding highlands.
In ancient times, this hill was the natural rallying point for the clan McLaurin.
Quite naturally, the clan's gathering cry therefore became "Creag an Tuirc" or, as it's translated into English, "the Boar's Rock".
